Dr. Nandita Fernandes has called Northern Virginia her home for the past 16 years. She earned a Master of Public Health and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and has been in general practice ever since!
Dr. Fernandes is a Fear Free certified professional and strives to decrease the fear, anxiety, and stress of her patients, both at the hospital and at home. She is also certified in Canine Physical Rehabilitation and Veterinary Medical Acupuncture. She feels lucky to be able to offer her patients the best medical care possible in addition to using complementary alternative medicine as a great adjunct to improve her patient’s quality of life.
Dr. Fernandes joins the Great Falls team with interests in acupuncture and physical rehabilitation, the human-animal bond, wound management, internal and preventive medicine, and geriatric care.
She enjoys spending her free time with her family, dogs, watching movies, baseball games, funnel cakes, yoga, and outdoor activities in the sun!
Veterinary nurses provide many important services to our patients, including pre- and post-surgical care, monitoring symptoms, administering medications, alerting the doctors to any problems, and giving lots of hugs to frightened animals.
