I have been at GFAH since the summer of 2021 and have adored every moment of it. Science and animals are the two loves of my life and working as a vet assistant has allowed me to combine both of those passions. I learn something new everyday, spend time around so many lovable pets, and find joy in the fact that I get to help animals feel happy and healthy!
My heart is owned by my 1.5 year old German Shepherd, Axel. After graduating from university with a Biomedical Genetics degree, I spent a whole year feeling lost and confused about what to do next in my life. I really enjoyed learning science but was not interested in doing research as a career, which is what most science graduates end up doing if they stay in the field. Raising Axel reinforced the deep love I've always had for animals and made me revisit my childhood dream of a career in veterinary medicine. He helped me realise that it was not just a silly dream after all, but a very real ambition that I could actually pursue. A few months later, here I am, happier than ever!
In my free time, I enjoy reading, running and writing half-finished novels that will likely never be published.
